Bake It Forward: A Wonderful Way to Spread Holiday Cheer
What they came up with is so touching.
These three friends were inspired by campaigns from Toyota and the Food Network to do something nice for others. Together, they came together to launch the brilliant campaign to #BakeItForward, preparing cookie recipes special to their own families to give to firefighters in thanks for all they do every day. To spread the word and inspire others to do that same, they made this touching video of their experience and are sharing it on their blogs and social media with the hashtag #BakeItForward.
It is what this season is all about.
Their idea: when you are making cookies this holiday season, make an extra batch for local heroes to show your gratitude. It is an awesome idea.
But the greatest part?
An additional benefit is this dovetails into a Food Network campaign which donates $1 to No Kid Hungry each time someone bakes a treat, shares a photo on social media with the hashtag #bakeitforward. Their goal is to both remind people that baking someone for someone else in their life or community does change that person’s day and in the process to increase the donations to No Kid Hungry, a cause in which they all believe in strongly.
Please share and remember to tag with #bakeitforward.
